Man slashed in Midtown attack, NYPD searching for suspect who fled on foot

New York, NY – A 28-year-old man was critically injured Friday afternoon after being slashed in the arm during a street attack in Midtown Manhattan, police said.

The assault occurred around 3:55 p.m. in front of 429 Seventh Avenue, when an unidentified male approached and slashed the victim before fleeing eastbound on West 38th Street. Responding officers found the victim bleeding from a deep arm wound. EMS transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

Investigators described the suspect as a man with a dark complexion, last seen wearing a black cap, black jacket, and black pants, and carrying a blue bookbag. He remains at large…
