Cleveland State’s end-of-life doula course opens to public, meeting growing need

CLEVELAND, Tenn. — Cleveland State Community College Workforce Development is set to launch its first end-of-life doula program later this month, offering virtual training for people interested in supporting individuals and families during serious illness and death.

The six week program begins Jan. 20, 2026, and will meet online Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. The training includes lectures, guided discussions, and interactive fieldwork components. College officials say the program is open to the public and participants do not need to be enrolled as Cleveland State students. Here’s where you can sign up.
