GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Dozens of volunteers of all ages braved the cold Saturday to honor local fallen veterans by cleaning up a Grand Rapids cemetery.
Nearly 40 volunteers spent the morning removing around 4,900 holiday wreaths from the Grand Rapids Veterans Home Cemetery, volunteer Sean Murphy told News 8.
“It’s very important that we honor and respect our veterans. It also helps the (veterans) home out tremendously,” Murphy said.
