Spartanburg delays vote on $3 billion data center proposal

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — Spartanburg County officials opted to delay a vote and second reading on the proposed data center ordinance following increased public concern.

The $3 billion investment, labeled “Project Spero” in county agendas, passed the first reading at the November 17 council meeting. It was slated to be discussed again in December, however the company behind the center asked for the vote to be delayed.

County council members are now pushing it back again…
