Evacuation order lifted in Decatur after grain fire

DECATUR, Mich. (WOOD) — An evacuation order that displaced residents due to a grain fire in Decatur was lifted late Saturday afternoon.

According to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office, a call for the fire was placed at around 10:50 a.m.

The evacuation remained in effect until late in the afternoon. Several streets, including E. Delaware Street, W. Delaware Street, S. Williams Street and S. George Street were affected.

Decatur said in a social media post that all displaced residents were free to return home and that the situation would be “monitored overnight.”…
