New Jersey seafood ingredient recalled after children fall ill: FDA

NEW JERSEY (PX11) – A popular seafood ingredient used in cooking is being recalled in New Jersey and Iowa after four children fell ill, according to the Food and Drug Administration.

Gusto Group Inc., of Paterson, New Jersey, is recalling a shrimp paste product due to potential lead contamination, according to a company announcement released on Thursday.

The product was sold at Terri Lee Oriental Groceries in Maywood, NJ, from April to December 2023, according to officials. The product was also sold at another location in Iowa, according to the FDA’s website…
