LANSING — Strong winds were causing problems in the Lansing area on the morning of Jan. 9.
Parts of northbound and southbound U.S. 127 in the area of M-43 and Kalamazoo Street were closed for a time because of downed wires, the Michigan Department of Transportation reported. All lanes appeared to be open as of 11 a.m.
The Lansing Board of Water & Light said about 1,200 customers in the area of East Saginaw Street and Coolidge Road lost power when a primary electric line came down. About 1,900 other customers were taken offline briefly in order to retore service to the East Lansing customers, a spokesperson said…
