On Saturday at 9:19 a.m. the National Weather Service released an updated tornado warning in effect until 9:45 a.m. for Elmore County.
“At 9:19 a.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Ten Cedar Estates, or near Wetumpka, moving east at 50 mph,” explains the weather service. “Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.”
