West Sacramento Swat Corners Gun Suspect After Douglas Street Apartment Attack

A man accused of beating and robbing a woman with a gun inside a West Sacramento apartment was taken into custody Thursday afternoon after a regional SWAT team surrounded the unit and negotiated his surrender. The woman was taken to a local hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening, and officers said they found a firearm and her stolen belongings inside the apartment. The suspect was booked into the Yolo County Jail while detectives continue to build the case, as reported by FOX40.

According to FOX40, West Sacramento police were called around 1:10 p.m. Thursday to the 600 block of Douglas Street after a woman went to the complex to meet an acquaintance. Investigators identified a suspect who stayed inside the unit where the attack allegedly occurred and secured search and arrest warrants before moving in. Officers later recovered the firearm believed to have been used in the assault along with the victim’s stolen property, the outlet reported.
