‘We need to work together’: Sacramento area teachers are ‘strike ready’ as contract negotiations continue

(FOX40.COM) — After months of failed contract negotiations between several Sacramento area school districts and teachers unions, teachers across the community are prepared to go on strike. On Saturday, they teamed up with parents and students this afternoon for a strike-ready art build.

“We need to work together,” Drucilla Ramirez, a Twin Rivers 3rd grade duel immersion teacher said. “This is for our students.”

With the swipe of a paint brush and a unifying chant, teachers across the Sacramento area are trading in pencils for paintbrushes Saturday. They geared up to take contract negotiations to the next level…
