Last night in Logan Heights turned tense when gunfire shut down Imperial Avenue in both directions, choking off traffic and pulling a heavy police response to the neighborhood. Officers swarmed the 2900 block of Imperial Avenue, near 29th and 30th streets, sealing off the stretch as they worked the scene. One person was taken to a hospital with injuries that authorities described as non-life-threatening.
