Greeley, CO – The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about two phone scams targeting family members of inmates at the Weld County Jail. Authorities said the fraudulent calls claim to be from jail employees and request money for pretrial release or account setup.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the first scam involves a caller posing as a pretrial employee. Victims are told that for a $750 payment, their incarcerated loved one can be released under pretrial supervision.
