Motorists traveling through Lehigh County should prepare for lane restrictions and delays as PennDOT begins multiple road maintenance and construction projects across the region.
Work starts Monday, Jan. 11, with line painting on Interstate 78 between Exit 57 at Lehigh Street and Exit 60 at Route 309 in Allentown. A PennDOT contractor will restrict lanes in both directions from 7 a.m. to noon that day.
The most extensive project begins Tuesday, Jan. 12, on MacArthur Road in Whitehall Township between Center Street and Chestnut Street. A PennDOT contractor will conduct construction work including signal upgrades, intersection improvements, and Americans with Disabilities Act curb ramps through Oct. 30, 2026.
