North Charlotte head-on crash claims life of 16-year-old girl: CMPD

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A 16-year-old driver has died following a head-on crash last weekend in north Charlotte, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.

The accident happened around 8:56 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, in the 5800 block of West Sugar Creek Road. Police said a Toyota Yaris traveling north crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a BMW X3. The driver of the Toyota, identified as 16-year-old Comfort Antwi, suffered life-threatening injuries. Both drivers were taken to the hospital.
