Sunny & cooler conditions Sunday followed by near to below normal temperatures next week

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The pressure gradient tightens Sunday as high pressure builds in from the west, supporting widespread gusts of 30–40 mph across much of the area.

Windy Conditions Saturday Night Into Sunday

The cold front ushers in strong winds Saturday night and into Sunday. The higher elevations of the mountain see gusts reaching advisory criteria by Sunday morning, with the Piedmont experiencing gusts near 30 mph at times Sunday afternoon.

Travel impacts: If you’re planning to drive Saturday night or Sunday, expect winds that could affect high-profile vehicles. Secure any outdoor items before Saturday — trash cans, patio furniture, and decorations should go inside or be tied down. Gusts look to be anywhere from about 25-35 mph, even near 40 mph are possible.

Sunday Outlook

After the system moves through, conditions improve Sunday afternoon as drier air moves in and sunshine returns. Temperatures drop, and winds gradually diminish by evening. Some flurries develop in the highest mountain elevations Sunday morning, but significant snow accumulation doesn’t occur.
