Nonprofit works to improve accessibility across Barry County

BARRY COUNTY, Mich. — A local nonprofit is working to improve accessibility for people with disabilities across Barry County, from public spaces and libraries to sidewalks and business entrances.

The Ability Collective was created to address gaps in services and access for people with disabilities, according to its founder, Maggie Bayerl.

“The Ability Collective was started here in Barry County as a response to needing a lot of services and support for people with disabilities,” Bayerl said. “We really don’t have a lot of other services here.”…
