Suspected drunk driver wearing club band stopped at Circle K

A Leesburg man with a club band still on his wrist was arrested on a drunk driving charge at a Circle K.

An officer caught 40-year-old Demetrius Antonion Bradford speeding in a black Dodge Charger on Citrus Boulevard and Tally Road around 3:05 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. Radar confirmed he was going 62mph in a 45-mph zone, leading to a traffic stop at Circle K, located at 1331 W North Blvd.

While speaking to Bradford, the officer noticed his bloodshot watery eyes and the smell of alcohol on his breath. He also started smoking a cigarette during their conversation. He was subsequently asked to step out of the vehicle, the report said.

Bradford obeyed but had to use his door for assistance. He swayed while standing still, as well. During this time, the officer noticed he had a club band on his right wrist. He admitted to drinking earlier at this club, the report said…
