Two Charged After New Year’s Day Triple Shooting in Northeast Philadelphia

Two people were arrested and charged after a violent confrontation on New Year’s Day in Northeast Philadelphia escalated into a deadly shootout that killed two men and injured a third. Philadelphia police identified the suspects as Cara Williams-Reeves, 44, and Tyriq Williams, 21, both facing murder and related charges tied to the incident on the 7100 block of Oakland Street.

The shooting occurred at approximately 11:14 a.m. on Thursday, January 1. Officers responding to reports of gunfire arrived at a home on Oakland Street and found Luis Colon suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. Colon’s age was reported as 51 and 52 in official police accounts. He was transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:55 a.m.

During the initial response, investigators learned that the suspects had fled the scene in a dark-colored Chrysler 300. That same vehicle later arrived at Temple University Hospital carrying two gunshot victims. One was identified as Quadir Tull, 21, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at 11:52 a.m. The second victim, a 21-year-old man, suffered a gunshot wound to his hand and was listed in stable condition…
