FBI search warrant leads to standoff in Chula Vista; individual found unresponsive

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — The FBI San Diego office confirmed a court-authorized search warrant in Chula Vista Friday evening ended with an individual found unresponsive following a prolonged standoff.

According to a statement, agents, working alongside the San Diego Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, served the warrant on the evening of Jan. 9 at a residence in the 1100 block of Nile Avenue.

During the execution of the warrant, the subject barricaded himself inside the home, prompting a lengthy standoff with law enforcement. Authorities said that after the standoff concluded, personnel located the individual inside the residence and found him unresponsive.
