Earlier this week, officers were dispatched to a missing person call involving an individual who had sent messages to his family indicating suicidal intent. With freezing temperatures and time working against them, officers, alongside our dispatchers, immediately began an extensive, coordinated search.
Using cell phone pings, patrol units canvassed multiple areas on foot and by cruiser, checking parks, buildings, and wooded areas in freezing temperatures. After more than an hour of searching, officers located the individual outdoors, suffering from extreme cold exposure and intoxication.
