Kansas City man known as “The Mayor” sentenced in drug, gun case

A Kansas City, Missouri, man has been sentenced in federal court for distributing methamphetamine near a school and possessing a firearm to advance his drug operation.

Ricky Lee Myers, 63, also known as “The Mayor,” received a prison sentence exceeding 10 years, followed by six years of supervised release. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Court Judge Roseann A. Ketchmark.

Myers entered a guilty plea on May 21, 2025, admitting to possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school, along with possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking…
