England, ARK. – Dozens of law enforcement agencies flooded the city of England Friday night, just days after the police chief requested outside assistance because of escalating public safety concerns.
England Police Chief Richard Friend sent a memo earlier this week asking for help from surrounding law enforcement agencies — warning that this weekend posed a heightened risk for violence.
“We’ve got Arkansas State Police, DEA, ATF, Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office, the Cabot Narcotics Unit, and several other agencies providing assistance,” Chief Friend said.
