Volunteers put Stroll on State decorations ‘Back in the Box’

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Around 30 people put Stroll on State and downtown Rockford’s holiday decorations ‘Back in the Box’ Saturday so they can be preserved for the 2026 festivities.

People took down lights, garland, ornaments and the big presents lining State Street. Volunteers also assisted in other tasks including the takedown of the city’s Christmas tree.

“We are planning what we need to do. We got America’s 250th: We need to have a lot of red, white and blue,” said volunteer Perry Eppes. “It’s things like that. What else what can we tweak? What do we need to redo?”…
