Single car crash kills driver near 24th and Memorial after striking utility pole

A single-car crash kills a driver near 24th and Memorial early this morning after he lost control and struck a utility pole.

At around 4:45 a.m., a man driving a black Mercedes sedan was traveling northbound on Memorial Drive when he lost control of his car, hit the curb, spun around and hit a utility pole. Officers arrived along with the Tulsa Fire Department and the driver was extracted from the car. He was transported to the hospital but died from his injuries shortly after.

Tulsa Police Captain Richard Muelenberg tells KRMG that speed was likely a factor, but the exact cause of the collision is still under investigation…
