Lawsuit filed over controversial plan to sell downtown St. Louis park

ST. LOUIS – A controversial plan to sell Interco Plaza in downtown St. Louis for use as a parking lot has triggered a lawsuit claiming the city cannot sell the land without a public vote.

The Open Space Council for the St. Louis Region Inc. formally filed the lawsuit Tuesday, prompted by Interco Plaza’s recognition as a city park.

Interco Plaza is a fenced-off grass-and-concrete land space covering nearly three-quarters of an acre, located at the intersections of North Tucker Boulevard and Martin Luther King Drive on downtown’s northside.
