(FOUNTAIN, Colo.) — The Front Range saw a record-breaking amount of snow for Jan. 8, and plow crews across El Paso County were out in force overnight making sure drivers could reach their destinations Friday morning.

According to the City of Fountain, plow operator Carl Shilling began plowing on his family’s farm when he was 15 years old. He has since plowed for ski resorts, the Colorado Springs Airport, and more.

Shilling was among the drivers out clearing roads in Fountain, which according to data from the National Weather Service (NWS), received between 10-11 inches of snow overnight Thursday.
