BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — High pressure building in means rising temperatures for part of the region, pretty much everyone above and beyond the South Valley over the upcoming week.
Those thermometers might actually hit the mid 70s in the Kern River Valley by midweek, with 70 possible for the desert and the mountains joining the fun with readings at least into the mid 60s.
That’s the “easy” part of the forecast.
The challenge goes to the South Valley side of things since high pressure this time of year also means a Tule Fog friendly atmosphere with a strengthening temperature inversion, meaning warmer air building in on top of colder and chillier air at and near ground-level.
