Make-A-Wish Alabama launches 10th annual Trailblaze Challenge

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Make-A-Wish Alabama is launching its 10th annual Trailblaze Challenge. It’s a 12-week endurance hiking program that trains volunteers to complete a more than 26-mile trek in the Talladega National Forest while raising funds to grant wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses.

Alyssa Thomas, North Alabama development manager for Make-A-Wish Alabama, said the program welcomes people of all fitness levels.

“We are recruiting people, people who have never hiked a day in their life, to people who are pro runners, to come and train with us all while supporting Make-A-Wish Alabama,” she said…
