MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis man was convicted and sentenced for exploiting and stealing from vulnerable elderly residents at a senior living facility in Olive Branch, Miss.
The DeSoto County District Attorney’s Office announced Saturday that 65-yer-old Allen Williams was sentenced to a total of 18 years to serve in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. He was also sentenced to a total of 13 years of post release supervision, with five years reporting.
Williams was employed as a custodian at Silvercreek Senior Living Community and abused his position of trust to steal jewelry from more than a dozen elderly residents, said the DA.
Stolen items included wedding rings and other personal pieces of significant sentimental value. Some of the jewelry was later pawned in Memphis, while other items were never recovered…
