Hundreds protest ICE in Roanoke; local woman shares family’s struggle

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Hundreds of people gathered in Downtown Roanoke Sunday to protest Immigration and Customs Enforcement, joining demonstrations across the country in response to a recent shooting by ICE agents.

The nationwide protests were sparked after 37-year-old Renee Good was shot and killed by an ICE officer in Minneapolis. Good was behind the wheel when agents tried to open her car door. Officials said the officer was following training and protecting himself and others, but footage from the scene has left many questioning whether the use of deadly force was justified.
