Lafayette residents gathered at the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office downtown Saturday to protest the killing of a Minnesota woman at the hands of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent and a recent sheriff’s office agreement with the federal agency.
Dozens of people showed up in front of the sheriff’s office and Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on Saturday to voice their opposition to the continued federal crackdown on illegal immigration, as national tension continues to rise following the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Renee Good in Minneapolis earlier this week.
