Rex’s charitable arm gives $1.3 million to New Orleans schools, youth programs and hospital

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The Pro Bono Publico Foundation, which serves as the charitable arm of the Rex Organization, on Saturday (Jan. 10) revealed a list of grants awarded to New Orleans schools, youth programs and Manning Family Children’s Hospital totaling more than $1.3 million.

“The Pro Bono Publico Foundation’s donors, as well as other local foundations we partner with, recognize the importance of this investment in our children and our future,” said Merritt Lane, a foundation board member. “We have made tremendous progress, but we recognize there is much work still to do to ensure excellence in all of our schools.”

The 77 total grants announced at a press conference inside the Rex den on South Claiborne Avenue consist of 74 operational grants and three strategic grants, awarded to Manning Family Children’s Hospital/ThriveKids, New Schools for New Orleans and Lift All Boats…
