DPP to reconsider North Shore gondola permit and hear public input concerns

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Planning and Permitting will have a public hearing on Monday, Jan. 12, at 10 a.m. to reconsider a controversial conditional use permit allowing a gondola project on Oahu’s North Shore.

In a letter sent to Kaukonahua Ranch last year, DPP Director Dawn Takeuchi Apuna said the permit, which was approved in 2019, is being reexamined due to new evidence, changed circumstances, and possible failure to comply with permit conditions.
