Jefferson County Schools release statement after 2 students shot, 1 killed

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Birmingham Police are investigating after a shooting that occurred Saturday night, Jan. 10 turned fatal.

Police say around 10:47 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of two people shot in the 1600 block of Tuscaloosa Avenue Southwest.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a vehicle crashed into a tree in the front yard of a home.

According to police, two boys, 18-year-old Brandon McNeal Campbell and another juvenile, were inside the vehicle. Campbell was unresponsive while his passenger, who was only identified as a juvenile, had been shot as well…
