NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A man was arrested Thursday after he led officers on a chase that ended in a crash, according to the North Charleston Police Department.
Leon Damar Mays Jr., a 31-year-old from Columbia was arrested and charged with failure to stop for blue lights.
An incident report states that just before 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 8, officers observed what they believed to be narcotics activity on Stall Road. This belief prompted an officer to attempt a traffic stop on the involved vehicle, however, the driver fled the scene, reportedly throwing multiple bags of suspected narcotics from the vehicle in the process…
