County Road 455, a winding, hilly road popular with cyclists and bikers, has been the location of two crashes in the past three months, one fatal and the other nearly life-threatening.
The night of Jan. 11, a motorcyclist riding a 2007 Suzuki GSX-R600 northbound on CR 455 failed to negotiate a curve at Woodlands Drive in Montverde and ran off the roadway to the right just before sunset, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The rider was thrown from the bike and was pronounced dead on scene. The crash remains under investigation…
