A Rhode Island church was forced to cancel Sunday morning services after vandals broke in and damaged the altar, living quarters and rectory overnight.
East Providence police are asking for the public’s help in solving the case as they investigate the break in and vandalism at St. Martha’s Church on Pawtucket Avenue. They said they were called to the church at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
Officers and church leaders discovered that, sometime during the overnight hours, someone forced their way into the church and vandalized the altar, living quarters and rectory.
