Major water line breaks in Northeast El Paso, depletes reservoirs

A “very large water main” break depleted about 15 area water reservoirs on Sunday and left thousands of residents with little to no water service in parts of Northeast El Paso, a water utility spokesperson said.

The major pipeline break, involving a large amount of water during freezing temperatures, occurred early Sunday, Jan. 11, near the intersection of Transmountain Road and Girl Scout Way near Skyline Optimist Youth Park, El Paso Water spokesperson Denise Parra said in an email.
