Washington Man Charged In String Of Lumber And Tool Thefts From Home Depot Stores

A Washington man was arrested this week in connection with a string of thefts from Home Depot after a brief standoff with law enforcement, police said.

The Lacey Police Department said an officer began the investigation last month after Home Depot reported eight theft cases at local stores involving the same suspect stealing “large quantities” of lumber and tools. Investigators were able to identify the suspect, who had a “history of property crime and assaults, and was known to flee law enforcement,” police said.

On Wednesday, Lacey Police, with assistance from the Tumwater Police Department and an Olympia Police Department K-9 unit, responded to the suspect’s property, and he “refused to exit for an hour.”…
