A national department store chain is closing more locations.
Macy’s is in the process of closing 14 stores this year as part of a downsizing plan first announced two years ago, Retaildive.com reported.
In a memo to employees, Macy’s CEO Tony Spring said the initiative, “Bold New Chapter,” was working and the New York-based chain is seeing improved results over the first three quarters of its new fiscal year. However, he said, “in executing our strategy, we continue to review our portfolio and make careful decisions about where and how we invest, including closing underproductive stores and streamlining operations.”…
