Gov. Ivey announces guest speakers for state of the state address Monday

DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — Gov. Ivey has announced the guests who will be recognized at the state of the state address which will take place on Monday, January 12, 2026.

Rodney Smith, Jr., founder of Raising Men Lawn Care Service and students from Booker T Washington K-8 School in Birmingham will be recognized at Ivey’s final state of the state address of her tenure, as she has announced that she will not be rerunning for governor of Alabama.

Smith, Jr., a Huntsville native, founded Raising Men Lawn Care Service in 2015 while he was a computer science student at Alabama A&M University, when he helped an elderly neighbor mow his lawn.
