Longtime Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey announced Monday afternoon that he won’t seek reelection to the post he has held for more than a decade.
Morrissey, who was elected district attorney in 2010 after serving in the state senate and house of representatives, said in a statement that he believed it was the right time to “start a new chapter in my life.”
“I ran for this office to stand up for victims and give them a voice. I am proud to have done so for countless victims over the years and am deeply grateful for the trust placed in me and in the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office,” Morrissey said…
