Charlottesville man indicted for 2025 Water Street homicide

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) — Nearly a year after the murder of 22-year-old Charlottesville resident Jahaanz Wilson in the public parking lot on the 200 block of West Water Street on Jan. 26, 2025, a Charlottesville Grand Jury indicted 20-year-old Tyquan Markie Dean for second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony on Monday.

The indictments came after nearly a year of collaboration between detectives with the Charlottesville Police Department and prosecutors with the Charlottesville Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.

Dean was already in custody at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail for unrelated charges but has since been served with these additional indictments…
