Nonprofit organizations across Riverside and San Bernardino counties have until Friday, January 16 to apply for the Morongo Band of Mission Indians’ fifth annual Community Outreach Awards.The program offers grants of up to $5,000 to dozens of selected organizations each year. To qualify, groups must support one of five categories: teaching Native American culture, providing social services, education, hospitals and health organizations, or military and military family support. Award recipients will be announced in the spring.Since launching in 2022, the program has distributed more than $1.3 million in grants to nearly 300 nonprofits across Southern California. It’s part of the tribe’s broader community investment efforts, which have totaled more than $20 million over the past decade.The application is one page.
