Human Trafficking Often Hides in Plain Sight in Michigan

When big events roll into Michigan, they bring excitement, international crowds, traffic, and, unfortunately, opportunity for people who exploit others. Ahead of the Detroit Auto Show, Attorney General Dana Nessel is reminding Michiganders of a hard truth. Human trafficking does not live in shadowy, unseen, faraway places. Human trafficking is one of the most profitable crimes in the world, and Michigan is not immune. It can involve forced labor or sexual exploitation, and it does not always look like what TV dramas or Liam Neeson movies suggest.
