Ohio minimum wage hike: Businesses adapt, consumers pay more

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Starting on Jan. 1, 2026, minimum wage workers saw an increase in pay in the state of Ohio. Non-tipped workers now start at $11, and tipped workers start at $5.50.

Joseph Charlebois started working at Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken as a cook back when they first opened in 2014, back when the minimum wage was lower.
