Family questions circumstances of Gainesville man’s death on Archer Road: ‘All I really want is answers’

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) — Family members of a man who died in December say the information they’re receiving about his death is inconsistent.

Gainesville Police Department officers say Tyrone Davis Jr.’s death is not suspicious, but family members don’t believe he jumped out of a moving car.

On Dec. 27, officers came to an area of Southwest Archer Road near the I-75 overpass after receiving reports of an injured person. Detectives say their initial investigation determined Davis jumped out of a moving vehicle while in traffic, sustaining significant injuries to his head. After a few days at the hospital, he died…
