JENKINS CHARGED WITH DESTRUCTION OF AND TAMPERING WITH GOVERNMENTAL RECORDS

Clinton, Tennessee – Today, Carrie Jenkins, age 43, had a Preliminary Hearing in Anderson County General Sessions Court, Division I on charges of Destruction of and Tampering with Governmental Records which is classified as an E Felony. Jenkins had been previously charged by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office in May of 2025. At the conclusion. of today’s hearing, Judge Victoria Bowling found probable cause to believe that the crime had occurred and that Mrs. Jenkins had committed that crime. On the basis of that finding, the State’s case against Carrie Jenkins was bound over to the Anderson County Grand Jury for further proceeding.

According to the Affidavit of Complaint filed against Jenkins, the charge of Destruction of and Tampering with Governmental Records related to the changing of grades at Clinton High School. At the time, several teachers, counselors or employees with the Anderson County School System resigned and/or were terminated. The Anderson County School System conducted an internal investigation. Following that investigation, portions of the controversy were further investigated by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee State Comptroller with the assistance of the Tennessee Department of Education…
