Company officials say the updates further reinforce Barrett’s reputation for precision engineering, innovation, and American manufacturing excellence.
In 2022, Barrett Firearms Manufacturing Inc. was recognized as one of the largest gun manufacturers in the world. The following year, the Rutherford County–based company was acquired by the NIOA Group, an Australian, family-owned global munitions and defense firm. While NIOA acquired 100 percent ownership of Barrett, founder Ronnie Barrett and the existing leadership team agreed to remain actively involved in the company, supporting long-term growth and expansion plans that continue to take shape today.
Among the headline introductions is the MRAD® Covert, a compact precision rifle designed to meet the demands of discreet operational environments without sacrificing accuracy or reliability. Built on the proven, magazine-fed, bolt-action MRAD platform, the MRAD Covert features a folding stock and a design that allows the rifle to be easily disassembled to fit inside a bag or backpack.
