Injured person arrives at VUMC after gunshots reported on Lafayette Street

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — An investigation is underway after a shooting victim showed up at a Nashville hospital following reports of gunfire along Lafayette Street Sunday night.

The incident was reported shortly after 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11. The Metro Nashville Police Department said officers responded to a shots fired call in the 100 block of Lafayette Street.

When authorities arrived at the scene, they said they discovered numerous vehicles that had been hit by gunfire, as well as buildings in the area. In addition, law enforcement reportedly found shell casings at the intersection of Lafayette Street and Fairfield Avenue, which was temporarily shut down.

Shortly afterward, officials said someone arrived at Vanderbilt University Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the leg and foot. There is no word on that person’s condition at this time…
